Kedem Research Fund
The research fund was established from the understanding that treating trauma alone is not enough — it is essential to develop and scientifically validate innovative and effective interventions.
At Kedem, we measure neurological dimensions alongside psychological metrics related to trauma and resilience.
Through collaboration with leading academic institutions, we research tools such as advanced breath work techniques, cold exposure, neurological biomarkers, and somatic interventions.
Our goal is to create a scientific evidence base that will allow these approaches to be integrated responsibly and effectively into public and healthcare systems in Israel.

HRV as an Early
Biomarker for Post-Traumatic Stress in UAV Operators
This study examines whether heart rate variability (HRV) can serve as an early biological marker for identifying post-traumatic stress among UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) operators working on the combat-ready home front.
The goal is to detect real-time physiological changes that precede stress responses, enabling earlier and more precise therapeutic interventions.
The Effect of Cold Exposure and Breathwork on Vagal Activity and Post-Traumatic Symptoms
This study examines the impact of a six-week program that includes cold-water immersion and breathwork exercises on vagal activity, post-traumatic symptoms, and functioning among soldiers exposed to combat. The research combines physiological and psychological measures to assess the therapeutic potential of the intervention as a tool for rehabilitation.
